Today there are a lot of British automakers competing to make the best-performing cars. Some of these are popular names like Mclaren, Aston Martin, and Jaguar. Even more names are out there that every car enthusiast should know like Caterham, Lotus, and Noble Automotive. But today the focus is on a relatively unknown car company known as Caparo Vehicle Technologies. Caparo makes just one vehicle, and it is known as the Caparo T1. But first a brief history…
History
Caparo Vehicle Technologies was initially named “Freestream” and was founded in 2006. It was formed by two former Mclaren F1 engineers named Graham Halstead and Ben Scott-Geddes. In April of 2006 it was acquired by Caparo and became formally known as Caparo Vehicle Technologies. Soon after the Caparo T1 was born, and was scheduled to have 25 built and sold per year. But 5 years later, only 16 had been sold for a price of 235,000 pounds per vehicle. In 2019, the company was fully dissolved, and the car maker is now no more.
Performance
The Caparo T1 performs incredibly considering the fact that so few were made. The T1 had a 3.5 Liter V8 made by Team Menard, and puts out 575 horsepower to the wheels. It can reach a top speed of about 205 mph and weighs just 1,036 lbs. It should be noted that on Methanol fuel the car can put out 700 horsepower. It sports a 6-Speed semi-automatic transmission made by Hewland. It does 0-60 in a blistering 2.5 seconds and does 0-100 mph in just 4.9 seconds.
Bottom Line: This car is nuts and performs like it too. From the picture above you can see that from the inside-out it is built solely for performance.
Praga is a car company you probably haven’t heard of. It flies extremely far under the radar, yet is has some major automotive feats that should probably be talked about. Praga makes racing cars as well as supercars that are outstanding in performance, yet if you saw one on the road you would be confused as to what it was. So here is a short version of the long history of the Czech Auto Maker known as Praga.
History
Praga was founded in 1907. Let just that phrase alone settle. It has been in (and out) of business for over 110 years! The name “Praga” is simply Latin for the current capital of the Czech Republic, Prague. Initially, Praga built engines and other vehicle components for military vehicles like planes and tanks. Then in 1929 Praga merged with ČKD (a large engineering company) which would birth the start of Praga manufacturing cars for civilians. Later in 1929 the BD Motorcycle was branded as “Praga”. This BD motorcycle has only one cylinder and was rated at a 500cc, so it wasn’t anything major for the time. 3 years later in 1932, Praga started manufacturing a second motorcycle, the BC. This motorcycle was even smaller, as it was rated at just 350cc. However in 1933, Praga ended production of both of its tiny motorcycles. Unfortunately in 1945, the factory was mostly destroyed due to air raids during World War 2. But after World War 2, business resumed and Praga started to make passenger cars, buses, and trucks and it was nationalized. In the 1950’s, Praga resumed its military manufacturing as it created the “M53/59 Praga”. It was a “self-propelled” anti-aircraft gun, which is basically a large gun welded to a large vehicle. Fast forward to 2006, and Praga was bought out by the British International Truck Alliance, and this is the end of when Praga made boring cars. In 2011, something brilliant happened…
The Praga R4S… the beginning of a new era
Praga decided to unveil the Praga R4S at the 2011 Dutch Supercar Challenge that was being held in Belgium. The R4S was an 8-cylinder race car that pumped out 520 horsepower. This was the start of Praga being a cool automaker. The R4S looked simply electrifying with its dramatic rear spoiler and ridiculous side scoops. It captured the attention of a few, but enough people for Praga to start to make a new name for themselves. Then Praga decided to make the R1, which is the focus of today’s article. The first R1 was made in 2012, and production of the car started in 2013. It looks even cooler and more sporty than its predecessor the R4S, but features less power. See, the R1 features an inline-4 engine manufactured by Renault that puts out 390 horsepower. The R1 was raced in 2013, 2014, 2017, 2018, and 2019. But there is still one more car made by Praga that deserves a nod. That would be the Praga R1R. The R1R is very similar to its predecessor, with the same engine and power figures. The R1R is street legal and has a rear wheel drive layout. There will only be 68 of these made, which comes from the 68 year break Praga took from making road-legal cars. It weighs only 1,477 lbs which is insanely light.
Bottom Line: The Praga R series of cars is insane, but it isn’t all the Praga made. We have to remember how they started in order to fully understand the magnitude of what they are accomplishing today.
In a new series about the presence of Tesla inc. it different countries, we are going to focus on two island nations found off the coast of America in the Atlantic. The Bahamas and Bermuda are two of the most popular vacation destinations in the world, and today we are going to look at how owning a Tesla there would be. Unfortunately the Bahamas and Bermuda have 0 Tesla presence, period. No superchargers, stores, or service centers are to be found on either of the islands. This makes it a little difficult to get your Tesla to your respective island, but it isn’t impossible. The easiest thing for you to do is to order your car online, and you will probably have to pay some extra shipping to get it to you. After you do decide to purchase your Tesla, your next problems are fixing and charging. You can always to “drip charging” as long as you have an adapter and a standard electricity outlet. But this isn’t very practical and only gets you 1-2 miles of range every hour. The best option is to install your Wall Connector so that you essentially have your own supercharger in your home. This will set you back $500, but is well worth it. Finally Tesla service is lacking in the Bahamas and Bermuda. So as far as fixing your Tesla goes, you might have to ship it somewhere to get it fixed by Tesla.
It’s a little empty around here…
So is owning a Tesla in the Bahamas or Bermuda a good idea? There’s a yes and no answer. If you really enjoy the car and like what it has to offer, then yes you should buy it. Tesla might make it a little difficult for you to buy, charge, and fix it but there is a way. Tesla has provided means of purchase and charging to their clients with both their online website and their Wall Connector. The only issue you would have would be if your car needed repairs, then there would be a bit of an unknown situation. Now if you are looking for a car that is easy to own where you live, I would not recommend a Tesla. The simplicity of ICE cars stills outdoes the simplicity of electric vehicles, but only because of your location. Soon enough, there should be more electric car availability in the Bahamas and in Bermuda.
Bottom Line: If you are all about the Tesla car, the you definitely could own this car with relative ease. We would recommend a long range Model S for the Bahamas and for Bermuda, due to its long range and all-wheel-drive stanard feature.
In a new series about the presence of Tesla inc. it different countries, we are going to start with the nation of New Zealand. New Zealand does have a surprising amount of Tesla presence as there is one Tesla store and one Tesla Service center. It should also be noted that there is a Tesla Service center that is to be installed soon near Wellington. There are currently 8 supercharger stations in New Zealand as well as 4 charging stations that will be put in soon. And as far as destination charging goes, there is not a single major gap on the whole island. There is either a destination or super charging station on almost every major city in New Zealand.
In New Zealand buying a Tesla is easy, charging your Tesla is easy, and fixing your Tesla is also easy. So what isn’t easy about owning a Tesla in New Zealand? Probably the weather. Tesla batteries don’t perform well in extreme weather conditions, so the extreme heat or cold that can happen will negatively effect your Tesla, mostly in the form of range reduction. Other than that problem is just the fact that charging hasn’t caught up to gas fueling. For now, there will be more gas stations than there will be charging stations but that is due to change over time. Installing an at home charger will also help alleviate some of the range anxiety as one can have 100% charge to start the day every day. The installation of solar panels and the Powerwall can also help reduce cost of living in New Zealand. The recommended car for New Zealand is the Long Range All Wheel Drive Model 3. The dual-motor system is a must have. The larger battery will also help reduce any range anxiety that one might have.
Bottom Line: As weird as it may sound, owning a Tesla in New Zealand is actually better than in most nations. The highly accessible chargers and service stations help to make owning a Model 3, Model X, or Model S simple and thoughtless, which is how it should be.
The world of unknown super cars continues to grow today as we cover the Lykan Hypersport. It was a limited production car created in Lebanon and debuted during the 2013 Qatar Motor Show. The production was limited to just 7 models, and the price was a whopping 3.4 million dollars. But that is to be expected when the headlights of the car are lined with 420 diamonds each. It is the first sports car to be completely designed in the Middle East. But this is just the beginning of this Lebanese monster that is conquering the super car world.
The Performance
The Lykan Hypersport is a performance machine. It has a top speed of 245 mph (395 kph) and either a 6-Speed manual transmission or a 7-Speed dual-clutch transmission. Power comes from a 3.7 liter flat-six engine made by Ruf Automobile. The Hypersport puts out an impressive 780 hp, which is especially impressive when you realize there are only 6 cylinders inside it! The Hypersport does 0-60 in a blistering 2.8 seconds, and weighs only 3,042 lbs (1,380 kg). The horsepower, top speed, and acceleration figures on this car are pretty nuts for any car, let alone a 6 cylinder car. Its mid engine layout and rear-wheel-drive drivetrain optimize its performance capabilities. It will be succeeded by the Fenyr Supersport soon…

The Verdict
For a vehicle that costs well over 3 million dollars, this car is still exceedingly surpassing 3 million dollar expectations. This car has diamonds in its headlights and has gold sewn into the seats. There’s no wonder as to why the car is as expensive as it is. It is the epitome of luxury, and it looks like a true supercar. The fact that only 7 were made (and 1 went to the police department in Abu-Dhabi) makes seen even more valuable than they already are. Film and videogame representation has also helped the car cement itself in the minds of car lovers as one of the rarest and best cars ever to roll off an assembly line. The Hypersport was used in the Furious 7 movie as well as in the video game Grand Theft Auto (GTA) 5. The Lykan Hypersport was produced from 2013-2017 and has model years of 2013-2016. You’ll be hard-pressed to find one of these cars for sale, as only 6 were ever sold to the public.
Choosing an Electric car as your new car can be a pretty life-changing decision. Even so, choosing to begin owning a Tesla can change the game even more. Due to the fact the Tesla’s have access to supercharging stations and standard charging stations alike, it makes their vehicles a prime option for anyone looking to purchase an electric car. This article series is going to be researching the pros, cons, and bottom like of purchasing a Tesla vehicle in your state, which today is Florida.
Pros
Tesla Supercharging situation is one of the best in the nation in Florida. From the panhandle down to Miami, there are no real major gaps in Florida that don’t have charging stations.
All Wheel Drive models of the Model 3, Model S, and Model X are great and can be useful during the rainy seasons.
At home charging means that you won’t need these charging stations, unless you decide to take a road trip. An at home charger is highly recommended for any electric car.
